Rare armchair in antiqued velvet upholstery with patinated brass legs.
One of the most significant of Gio Ponti’s houses during the 1930s was the Casa Laporte (Ponti lived there 1936-1943) on via Benedetto Brin. This model armchair is shown in period photographs of his home. At the VI Milan Triennale in 1936, Ponti presented in a “demonstrative dwelling”, the principles of which his home was a “living demonstration”. This model armchair was featured in this international exhibition.
