Rare Vittorio Bonacina daybed intricately woven with bamboo and rattan, new custom mattress and bolster pillows upholstered with ivory bouclé, Italy, 1960s. This very rare and exquisite midcentury Bonacina daybed is handmade using the highest standards of quality and luxury craftsmanship that Bonacina is known for. Fully restored and newly upholstered in an elegant Holland & Sherry Melissani White bouclé.

For more than a century, Bonacina has exemplified Italian excellence with its history and craftsmanship of furniture-making. It was founded by Giovanni Bonacina in 1889 in Lurago d’Erba, located in hilly and fertile area of Brianza which is north of Milan. Using the local materials reed and cane of this region along with rattan from southeast Asia, Bonacina combined two traditional crafts practiced in the region – basketry and furniture making. During the 1950s, the revolution in design and art flourished in which Bonacina embraced this collaboration between production experience and talented architects and designers of the period.
