ISA Bergamo rare exquisite pair of channel back lounge or slipper chairs in ivory bouclé with gilt metal legs, Italy, 1950s. These elegant chairs have gentle curves throughout including its channel back, seat, and signature cutout gilt metal front legs and saber back legs which exude luxury and playfulness. This unique pair of lounge chairs exhibits the the soft organic lines and the sculptural form of ISA Bergamo’s 1950s designs, both classical yet modernist, and unequivocally timeless. Fully restored and newly upholstered in a luxurious Holland & Sherry Melissani White bouclé.

I.S.A. (Industria Salotti e Arredamenti) also known as ISA Bergamo was an Italian furniture manufacturer founded in the late 1940s by Roberto Brembilla in Ponte San Pietro, a village outside of Bergamo. The company produced designs by Gio Ponti and advertised in leading magazines like Domus. ISA also worked with other renown architects of the period such as Giulia Veronesi, Aldo Morbelli and Leonardo Fiori. By the 1950s, ISA had become a household name in Italian furniture manufacturing and employed close to 400 workers.
